Reaal Claim Settlement has started using the online real-time variant of the Friss Fraud Solutions fraud detection system. From now on each new claim will be assigned a 'fraud score' directly. This has the advantage that the claims officer can determine straightaway whether or not further investigation is required while the claim is still hot. According to Friss this rapid real-time fraud detection increases the chance of catching fraudsters by a factor of between five and ten. "We have tested the system in the last few months in order to set all the fraud indicators correctly", says the manager of the Reaal Claims settlement department Marianne Heezen. According to Heezen Reaal is among the leaders in computerization of fraud detection. "We actually get a lot of requests from fellow insurers for references.
