The function of the data interface module is to retrieve data for the detection module from various internal and external data sources. The data interface module uses the settings as made in Friss Management for consulting the interfaces. In its turn Friss Detection accesses Friss Data Interface when an indicator requests internal or external data. In this way an Experian consultation, for example, can form part of the evaluation of the fraud indicators, but such sources of data as postcode tables, Chamber of Commerce details and naturally all internal databases or administration systems containing relevant data may also be consulted. The principle adopted by Friss is that interfaces with all relevant external sources are realised as part of the maintenance costs of Friss Detection. At the present time there are already standard interfaces with more than 15 sources.As well as this we search all sources that are relevant in the framework of fraud detection. Friss also accesses more and more public sources that are freely accessible via the Internet, such as line of business and quality registers for agents, valuers, repairers, websites for the car trade, etc.
